I have indeed been harmed by these, having gone through all the necessary steps (a huge headache and balancing act) to prepare from my trip, including confirm with my destination country immigration department that I would not be denied entry, only to be denied upon arrival due to the interpretation of the notification by a transit country. Despite them saying I was denied, I had someone at the immigration office in the destination country, speaking the local language, confirming that I was not, until the transit country coerced the destination country to change my approval status. As one cannot confirm in advance that they will be allowed entry, they are out the cost of the plane ticket, hotel fees, covid precautions and any other expense, in addition to the time lost from potentially multiple days spent in the air. This is certainly harm.

I was all ready to travel to Greece with my wife when Greece turned away two other RSO’s three days before my departure. I had a tough decision to make, to go and hope to get in and not sent home or to cancel the trip. I cancelled the trip with great sadness by my wife and myself. We had planned this for two years.
Now that we have to complete a detailed form informing other governments of our plans to visit their country, the door for an RSO gets closed even tighter. International travel is now nearly impossible give the new law to inform the local police of our intention to travel including our passport number, address of where we plan to stay, dates of travel and flight numbers. It appears that local authorities can make it so that it is impossible to travel to a foreign country even if it shows on the matrix that the country does not turn away RSO’s. It also appears that soon all countries will be turning away RSO’s when they receive the detailed intent to travel form required now by the local police or sheriff. This new requirement shuts the door on international travel.

Hi there, my partner plead no contest to a Level 1 SO in Texas 33 Years ago, how, or what did You use as a ground to be able to Un-Register in Texas? He has often wondered what could be done, and is it something where you have to be a resident of Texas to File this. We were recently, or at least He was turned away from Cancun 2 weeks ago. I would have been able to stay, but there was No way I would have, and we have been to Mexico before, and showed them the stamps in his Passport. I think it was 4 years ago, he took his Mother on a Carnival cruise with other Family, no issue. Me and Him had a Royal Carribbean booked for over 6 months, and 2 weeks before it sailed, He was inforned that He wouldnt be allowed to board. We are wondering what other Countries deny SO’s, and it seems that with this New Megans bullshit, its an ever changing game. I am assuming that US Territories, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands are still free to travel. What pissed Us off was whith Us registering our Passports ahead of time, and getting TSA pre checked, why they allowed us to fly down to Cancun at all as it was a directly flight out of ATL.

Does anyone have experience entering Mexico as an ex-sex offender? I was taken off the registry last year after successfully deregistering in Texas. I am wondering if I will be allowed in now that I am technically no longer a RSO.

Just to let people know I called Holland Cruise Line and they said it is against their policy to let RSO on their ships. I have checked all over the Internet and cannot find one instance where Holland has turned anyone away, however why take a chance? I called Princess Cruise Line the lady checked for me and she said they have absolutely no problem with it and would I like to make my reservation right now. So I am booking a cruise for March and I will let everyone know how it goes, thank you for all the information on here.

I just received this from the Haiti Consular’s office:

Our institution has not received any notice that prevents U.S. citizens with a record of non-violent crimes from traveling to the island.
Haiti remains open for business and tourism. We hope you enjoy your stay.

We encourage you to carry the proper documents with you in the case of questioning.
