In reply to mike. Yeah, we can disprove it. Some states and jurisdiction do not have these restrictions. Nothing at all is made of Halloween and restrictions, and there has never been a child abduction during trick or treat by a registrant in any of those places either.

the media would reply that they are the reason nothing has happened. If they didnt give the sheep the heads up on halloween there would be mass abductions by sex offenders..thats what they would say, and guess what? there is no way to disprove that statement. Its sad.

I receive “Google Alerts” concerning this issue from all over the state of Mo., and around Halloween, my e-mail is packed. MoRevStatute 589.426.1, specifically notes that these Halloween Laws pertain only to RSO’s convicted after the enactment of this law. (2008)
That would mean the law doesn’t apply to convictions in Mo. from 1979 thru 2008, in which I estimate to be 8,000 out of 12,000 registrants.There is absolutely no mention of this fact in the “talking points” by the authorities or the reporters. I’t makes me wonder about a conspiracy to create a panic. I really don’t know.
BUT, I am sure of one thing: The entire news media is reading from the same sheet of paper.

Unfortunately, this is America; facts take a back seat to emotions and if it is good for ratings, they are going to pump that story shamelessly for as long as they can.
