Well I do not want to be singled out on social media either. The point i was trying to make is its easier for LE to keep up with us on social media versus us not being on there. I just don’t want to worry about what websites I visit for completely benign reasons for fear of being charged with a felony and having to face a possible prison sentence.

Agreed Lovecraft. Transparency! I would not opposed to being allowed to have a social media page even if they wanted to put a red frame around my profile picture or have a banner disclaimer. 50% of something better than 100% of nothing.

No, child safety advocates will forever whine to lawmakers about “We don’t want other parents to go what we went through” and equate anyone that has a sex offense as a potential “online predator” that wants to use social media exclusively to seek out and groom a “vulnerable child” for a meetup, abduction, rape and murder.

It all boils down to human subjugation + fake outrage = political furtherance.

It would at least give them warning signs if someone appeared unstable, angry, vengeful etc. Not trying to say anyone here is, but there are bad people everywhere registrants or not and it’s much easier to keep up with someone via social media than without it.

We have all had social media. While the computer age gives an edge to those who want to present evil to another or entrap one in this sexcapade is a dangerous sort of thing even for those that are ministers of God and good will of for others.
When choices are made or a decision is made warnings should be made also. Sure we all can get caught up in any scam, but the one blinding one into this devilish ordeal is the instigator of this whole ordeal,
One has to understand that they are taking rights away from others because of their blind justice.. Would someone create an opportunity for someone to fall and on the internet its easier than it is in a real life situation.

You should do some research on sex offenders across the country there is a pretty good chance you did something that could have got you the title the only difference is you didn’t get caught or you weren’t in a state that takes little things to an extreme that gets you into a box you can never get out of and you know something every single person on this planet has committed a crime so open your eyes to reality before you go judging other people and take your own inventory before you take everyone else’s

There clearly has to be a first step to reform. Even though the registry is unconstitutional for anyone on it, the registry likely won’t go from where it is today to nothing. There will have to be steps and the most obvious step is helping first time registrants. You could also consider contact versus non contact offenses, although I think providing relief for first time registrants better encompasses what we are trying to accomplish.
